Pi Network releases V1 roadmap: community completely disappointed

[ad_1]

Although it kept its promise to “launch” the V1 roadmap by November, the response from the community has not been very positive.

Roadmap v1: Nothing new

In the Minepi.com blog, Pi Network promised to release a new roadmap based on important milestones (past achievements, future development plans), with 2 versions:

  • version 1: posted on October 2023 – Recycle old developments and reveal a transparent view of Pi Network’s short-term goals.
  • Version 2: posted on December 2023 – Detailing features, requirements, upcoming upgrades, and other steps the network needs to take before entering the open mainnet phase.

However, while the project has delivered on its promise to release v1 in October, there doesn’t seem to be anything new or interesting in the release, especially since Pi Network has given very little information on what to expect in V1.

This new roadmap has only four short sections:

  • Beta version, first phase
  • Testnet, Phase 2
  • Closed Mainnet, Phase 3 [enclosed]
  • Open mainnet, third phase [open]

Before the release of Pi Network V1, the community seemed quite disappointed. Many commenters on the @PiNewsMedia post highlighted the fact that this highly anticipated release really doesn’t bring anything new to the network and project plans.

What is the future of Pi mainnet?

It is worth noting that the new roadmap does not mention what the community is most concerned about – the time when Pi Network will deploy the open mainnet.

According to the roadmap on Minepi’s website, the project is currently in the middle of its closed mainnet phase. This phase begins in December 2021.

It can be seen that nearly two years have passed, and Pi Network is only halfway to the closed mainnet. Therefore, it can be predicted that the community is likely to have to wait another 2 years, or even longer, to see the Open Mainnet version.

The long waiting times and lack of clarity on mainnet plans are increasingly making the Pi Network community worry and lose confidence in the project. Previously, Pi’s mainnet schedule released earlier this year was met with ridicule.

However, despite previous disappointments, some in the Pi community are still waiting for V2 with optimism, hoping that the project will reveal some information about the open mainnet.

With this optimism in mind, members of the cryptocurrency community began jokingly wondering: “How long is the Pi Network community willing to wait before losing faith in the project?”
